European Building Summit 2023

Finalcad is the Gold Partner of the European BIM Summit

Finalcadthe collaborative platform for building project management, is the Gold partner of the European BIM Summit thanks to the agreement signed with the Col·legi d’Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d’Edificació de Barcelona [Association of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of Barcelona] (CAATEEB). Finalcad, which emerged in 2011 through the partnership between Jimmy Couchart, Joffrey Couchart and David Vauthrin to digitise their technical knowledge of building projects, now has more than 200,000 users all over the world and is available in 30 languages. Since its beginnings, the application has been involved in more than 24,000 projects in 35 countries and has accumulated funds to the value of $63 million.

In accordance with Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles, it is a collaboration platform that has everything needed to manage any building project as efficiently as possible, be it for housing, facilities, civil engineering work or for energy generation and transportation infrastructures.

All the data about the project and its development are available to all the professionals involved and all the information is updated in real time. Finalcad therefore caters to the needs of contractors, property developers and project managers in the implementation of quality activities through solutions for the management of defects, the lifting of reservations in pre-reception work, quality control and analytical reports.

The young company’s rapid expansion has provided it with a solid structure in Asia and Europe, with 120 employees distributed across offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Paris, Lyon and Madrid. This therefore makes it a partner totally aligned with the objectives of the international BIM summit, which will be held on an attendance basis at the World Trade Center of Barcelona on April 22 and 23, 2021 and will feature two preliminary online events: BIM XP, next October 15, and EBS+, on November 19.

Coordination, quality, progress and safety

Finalcad is underpinned by the following principles: coordination, quality, progress and safety. The application allows users to share photographs together with comments and their location and also convey any update to the rest of the team. This ensures that everyone is using the right information.

Quality management is therefore simplified, leading to savings of up to four hours a day and 25% fewer work defects, since the latter are detected immediately, are logged with a picture and comments and are assigned to the relevant team that will solve them within a given time-frame. This means that work evolves according to the budget and planning.

Project monitoring and personnel and material administration is performed by tablet or smartphone and all progress is shared with the relevant stakeholders. Finalcad enables us to know exactly who is doing what at any time, as well as the deadlines for the execution of all work.

Finally, using the application improves work safety, since any professional involved in the project can share any situation that could become an incident. All safety-related observations are registered, thus improving prevention: risks are identified and measures are taken.
