European Building Summit 2023

The role of the BIM Construction Manager will focus the EBS Day on April 29

EBS Day - BIM Construction Manager

With the aim of delving into the new professional profiles related to the BIM environment, the Col·legi d’Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d’Edificació de Barcelona (CAATEEB) will focus the next EBS Day 2021 on the BIM Construction Manager. The session, which will take place on April 29, starting at 6 pm, at Roca Barcelona Gallery, can be followed in streaming through Zoom, with free registration.

The emergence of BIM in construction has led to the creation of new professional profiles to take full advantage of a collaborative work methodology that provides efficiency, productivity, and optimization of time and costs. Drone pilots to monitor large infrastructure works, structural auditors in dams, or digital surveyors in rehabilitation actions are some examples.

The BIM Construction Manager is a new professional role, in charge of collecting the information generated during the design phase and transferring it to the construction site in the appropriate format for planning and financial monitoring.

The improvement of productivity in construction depends on having reliable information (BIM), aligning the professionals involved in the work (IPD) and taking advantage of the functionality of the methodologies that come from the industry (Lean).

Experiences about the BIM Construction Manager

The EBS Day of April 29 will be presented by the Project Leader of the European BIM Summit and BIM Leader of the CAATEEB, Rafael Capdevila, who will give way to the interventions of several professionals used to working with BIM Construction Manager on their projects:

  • “The builder wants a Construction Manager who uses BIM”, by Nora San Miguel, director of the Via Àgora technical office.
